Lipbalm Recipe

Ingredients 

25ml Sweet Almond Oil
10g Cocoa Butter
15g Beeswax (grated)
15 drops Essential Oil e.g. Lemon, Mandarin or 5 drops of Peppermint

Equipment

Accurate Scales (measuring 1g divisions)
Small Heat Proof Measuring Jug (50ml)
Bain-marie or Double Boiler and Hob
Sharp Knife and Chopping Board
8 x Small Lipbalm Tubes or 3 x 15ml Glass Jars

Note: Measurements must be exact to achieve the correct consistency.

Method
1. Pour the Sweet Almond Oil into the measuring jug.

2. Cut the Cocoa Butter into small pieces, and place in the measuring jug a long with the Beeswax.

3. Stand the measuring jug in a pan of hot water till the ingredients melt.

4. Remove from the heat and mix in the Essential Oils.

5. If using jars fill pour in the lipbalm mixture. If using tubes, fill the tubes and leave for 10 minutes. Top up with the remaining mixture and then leave for 12 hours before use otherwise the tubes won’t twist properly.
