Marigold Shampoo Recipe
| Ingredients 12 Marigold flowers 125ml Alpha Detergent 25ml Sugar Detergent 500ml Water 5ml Omega 2.5g Guar Gum 9ml Preservative K 8ml Lactic Acid (approx. depending on litmus test) 1 teaspoon Jojoba Oil 25 drops Essential Oil (approx.) |

Method
1. Pick off the Marigold petals and boil in a pan with 0.5 litres of water for 5 minutes. Leave to infuse for 20 minutes.
2. Strain the liquid into a stainless steel pan and discard the petals.
3. Mix the Alpha Detergent and Sugar Detergent in a measuring jug.
4. Bring the marigold liquid to the boil. Pour 340ml of the marigold liquid into the Alpha/Sugar Detergent mixture. Add the Jojoba Oil and stir.
5. Mix the Omega and Guar Gum in a double boiler or egg poaching pan. Heat until melted together.
6. Gradually pour the melted Omega and Guar Gum into the Alpha/Sugar Detergent mixture whilst stirring.
7. Add the Preservative K. Dip a sheet of litmus paper to test the pH balance. Add Lactic Acid until it reaches pH 5.5 or slightly less.
8. Add the Essential Oils then pour into containers and add labels. Makes approximately 400ml of shampoo.
